Agreement
These terms apply to your use of Diff at diff.tooltap.app, operated by [PLACEHOLDER: operator legal name and address]. By using Diff you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
The service
Diff is a free tool for comparing two blocks of text. You can use it without an account. With an account you can save comparisons, set them to expire, and share them through view-only links. We may change, limit, or discontinue features at any time.
Accounts
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Minimum age to create an account: [PLACEHOLDER: minimum age].
Your content
You keep ownership of the text you compare and save. You give us only the permission we need to store, process, and display it to you and to people you share it with, in order to run the service. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to use and share it.
Anyone with a share link (and its password, if you set one) can view the shared comparison. You can disable or replace a link at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Diff to break the law or to infringe anyone else's rights.
- Store or share malware, illegal content, or other people's personal data without a lawful basis.
- Use share links to harass, spam, or deceive others.
- Try to get around rate limits, password protection, or access controls, or access data that isn't yours.
- Overload, disrupt, scrape, or probe the service in ways that harm it or other users.
Limits
The service has usage limits, including input size, the number of saved comparisons per account, and attempt limits on protected links. Limits may change. Diff runs on free service tiers and may be unavailable at times.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Diff and delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or end access, disable share links, or remove content if you break these terms or if we need to in order to protect the service, other users, or to comply with the law.
No warranty
Diff is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that the service or its comparison results will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that saved data will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Diff. Liability cap and exceptions: [PLACEHOLDER: liability cap and any jurisdiction-required exceptions].
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, [PLACEHOLDER: how users will be notified]. If you keep using Diff after a change, the updated terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by [PLACEHOLDER: governing law and jurisdiction].
